01 — THE STATION

Lore & Setting

Welcome to Cranial One Station

The crew discovered that the spin of a neutron star follows the same elegant patterns as fortune itself.

Cranial One is a deep-space research station orbiting the edge of the known universe, staffed by the brightest minds from a dozen star systems. The station's Games Deck was built not for recreation alone, but as a live study in probability — the only way the crew ever found to make mathematics feel genuinely alive.

Every spin on board is logged as a research entry. The coins are just data — beautiful, weightless data. When you play on Cranial One, you're not a visitor to a casino floor. You're a crew member running an experiment.

Neutron Reels

Three reels spinning at the edge of a neutron star — align the cosmic symbols to light up the Games Deck.

Neutron Reels puts you at the helm console of Cranial One's star-observation bay. The three reels carry eleven symbols drawn straight from the station's star charts — pulsars, nebulae, comets and the wild card everyone watches for: Axiom's own visor glyph. Each spin logs your result as a new research entry. The longer you study the patterns, the more the probabilities reveal themselves.

How it plays: Choose your bet in Data Coins (10–100 per spin, stepping by 10). Tap Spin — the three reels blur and settle one by one, left to right. Land three matching symbols across the centre payline and you win between 20 and 1000 Data Coins, scaled to your bet. The Axiom Wild substitutes for any standard symbol, and three Pulsar Scatters anywhere on the reels trigger a free-spin sequence. No real money ever changes hands.

Rules & Paytable
  • Match 3 identical symbols across a payline to win Data Coins.
  • Axiom is the Wild — it substitutes for any standard symbol on the reels.
  • The Pulsar Scatter triggers a free-spin sequence when it appears on three or more reels.
  • All wins are paid in virtual Data Coins only. They have no real-money value and cannot be redeemed or cashed out.
03 — HOW IT WORKS

How Free Play Works

No real money, no deposits, no pressure. Just Data Coins and the gentle hum of the research station.

01
Starting Balance

Every crew member who arrives at the Cranial Games Deck is issued 5,000 Data Coins on the spot — compliments of Axiom and the station's resource allocation system. No purchase, no card detail, no catch.

02
Zero Risk

Data Coins are virtual research tokens. They have no monetary value, cannot be purchased, and cannot be exchanged for anything tangible. There is no real money on the Games Deck — not even in small print.

03
Refilling

Ran the balance down to zero? Simply ask Axiom for a top-up — refreshing the page restores your full 5,000 Data Coin allocation instantly. The station's reserves are, by design, inexhaustible.

04 — ABOUT THE STUDIO

Our Story

How Cranial One Started

Cranial One Studios was founded in London in 2021 by a small team who kept asking the same question: why does a spinning reel feel so satisfying, and why does it have to involve real money? We prototyped the first version of Neutron Reels in a Shoreditch coworking space on secondhand laptops.

Six months later we had a working game, a mascot sketch, and a firm rule we've kept ever since: no real-money mechanics, no purchase prompts, no pressure. The studio has grown to five people since then, but that rule has not changed once.

Cranial One is a free game. It will stay that way.

Meet the Mascot

Axiom — Android Navigator

Axiom the android navigator mascot

Axiom was assembled on Cranial One's engineering deck in the station's second year, built to help crew navigate the Games Deck without getting lost in probability loops. After cataloguing every spin pattern across the station's reels, Axiom developed a genuine fondness for the moment just before the symbols lock.

Precise, quietly enthusiastic, and always ready with a fact about the cosmos — or a nudge toward the next spin.

Studio Team

The Crew

PN
Priya Nair
Studio Director

Priya spent six years at a science-education publisher before co-founding Cranial One Studios in 2021. She wanted to make something that felt like a game but thought like a puzzle — and she hasn't stopped iterating since.

TH
Tom Hargreaves
Lead Game Designer

Tom came from the tabletop world, where he designed cooperative strategy games for twelve players. He brings that same balance-first thinking to every reel configuration on the platform.

YT
Yuki Tanaka
Art Director

Yuki trained as an illustrator in Kyoto and moved to London for a UI design role. She built the Cranial One visual language from a single sketch of Axiom on a napkin.

OA
Oluwaseun Adeyemi
Front-End Engineer

Seun architects the game engine and keeps load times ruthlessly low. He also writes the studio's internal accessibility guidelines, updated every quarter.

CF
Clare Fenton
Community & Responsible Play Lead

Clare runs the player community and edits every responsible-play message that appears in-game. Her rule: if a player ever feels pressured, the copy has failed.

06 — RESPONSIBLE PLAY

Responsible Play

Cranial One is built to be enjoyed — a bright corner of the Games Deck where the stakes are virtual and the experience is genuine. All play on this station is intended for adults aged 18 or over in United Kingdom. Neutron Reels and every other game here is entirely free: no financial risk, no deposit required, no spending of any kind. The 18+ badge is there because we take the adult-only environment seriously, not as a formality.

Data Coins are research tokens. They cannot be exchanged for real money, tangible prizes, or anything of monetary value. Even though the games simulate the thrill of a spin, Cranial One contains no real-money gambling mechanics whatsoever. Our studio — led in part by Clare Fenton as Responsible Play Lead — strongly advocates for healthy play habits even in a purely free-to-play environment. The patterns that make spinning feel good are real; staying aware of them is just good science.

If playing ever stops feeling like entertainment — if it starts eating into time you hadn't planned to spend, or affecting your mood off-screen — the right call is to step away. Professional support is available in United Kingdom, and our Responsible Play page has helpline details and guidance from organisations who specialise in exactly this.
