Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and understand how you use it. We also use similar technologies — such as localStorage and session storage — that serve comparable purposes. This policy covers all of them.
2. Why we use cookies
We use cookies to keep Cranial One running correctly, to remember your preferences (such as cookie consent and age confirmation), and to understand how visitors use the Games Deck so we can improve it. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or track you across unrelated third-party sites beyond the limited cases described below.

4. Lawful basis
Our lawful basis for cookies is governed by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of legitimate interest — they are required for the site to function and do not require your consent. All other categories (performance, functional, advertising) are set only with your explicit consent via the cookie banner. You may withdraw consent at any time by following the steps in Section 5 below.
5. How to manage your cookies on Cranial One
When you first visit the site, a cookie banner gives you the choice of "Accept all" or "Essential only". Your choice is stored in localStorage.__cc_v1. To change your preference, clear that key in your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage → cranial-one.com → delete __cc_v1) and reload the page — the banner will reappear. Alternatively, clearing your browser cookies and site data achieves the same result.

Blocking all cookies may affect how the site functions — in particular, the game balance stored in localStorage will reset on each visit.
7. Third-party cookies and services

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent for analytics and advertising cookies — only strictly necessary cookies will be set. We do not currently respond to the older Do Not Track (DNT) header because it has no standardised meaning across browsers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. We recommend checking back periodically.
